HOW TO REGISTER, DOWNLOAD AND SET UP DEPOSITIT

Registering & downloading Depositit

1. Click on the "Sign Up Here" button, which will take you to the first registration form (there are 3 to complete).
2. Form #1: Select the storage package and which technical support option you require and click "Submit".
3. Form #2: Enter your user details (name, address, email address etc) filling in the required fields as noted by the * (asterisks) and then click the "submit" button at the bottom. Ensure you enter a correct email address, as this is how we will correspond with you. (The billing email address can be the same as the email address or you can select an alternative for receipt of invoices)
4. Form #3: Create a username for your Depositit account - this can be between 2 and 24 characters in length without any spaces and is not case sensitive (use letters or numbers only).
5. Now create a password for your account - this must be between 6 and 16 characters in length, containing at least one number or one case sensitive letter. Then confirm your choice of password by entering it again.

   Note: Depositit can not see your password and for security the letters are changed to asterisks and may therefore look something like this *******

6. Select your security question and answer, which we will use to assist in confirming your identity should you need to contact our customer care team.

7. Click the "Submit" button.

   Note: If you select a username that the system cannot recognise for any reason you will be prompted to enter a new one. Please make a note of your username and password, as these will be required once you have downloaded the Depositit software.

8. Payment forms: Once you have clicked on the image of the credit or debit card that you intend to pay with, you will be taken to a second payment page where you will be required to confirm your name and address, and also provide your card details. Please do not worry about entering a username or password in the 'FuturePay Administration' area - you should leave these fields blank.
9. Click on the "Make Payment" button.

10. Once your payment has been accepted you will be able to download the Depositit software onto your machine. Select the "Save" option to save the Depositit software to your computer.

    (If you have a pop up blocker in place this may prevent you from downloading the Depositit software. You need to temporarily disable the pop up blocker)

11. Save the file to your desktop so that it will be easy to find when you wish to install the Depositit software.

Note: Depositit will send you an email confirming that the account is operational and can be immediately used to protect your data.

Installing Depositit

To prepare for installation, first close all programs to prevent any installation conflicts.

1. Locate the downloaded file "Depositit.exe", which you should have saved to your Desktop. Double click the icon to open it.

   If you cannot locate the file to install the Depositit software, go to the Start menu and use the "find" or "search for" facility to locate Depositit.exe.

2. Follow the instructions on the wizard which is designed to make the installation process very simple. Select the Next button to start the installation process.
3. Please read the License Agreement, which details our Terms and Conditions of Service. You will need to select "Yes" to continue.
4. Please also read our Privacy Policy and once again you will need to select "Yes" to continue.
5. Select the Next button and the Depositit software files will now be installed.
6. To complete the installation, select the Finish button.

Please wait a few moments after clicking 'finish', as a box will appear asking for your Username and Password (see below)

Submitting your user details

After you have installed Depositit and clicked "finish" an account security window will appear asking for your Username and Password.

If for any reason the Account Security box did not appear after you clicked finish, you can quickly bring it up by going to Start > Programs > Depositit > Update My Account Details. Once the box appears, follow the standard instructions below:

1. Enter the Depositit username and password that you created during registration.

   Note: Please DO NOT select "Change Password" at this point. If you do accidentally click this button then select "BACK" on the next page which will return you to the previous page.

2. If you have an always on connection such as broadband, adsl or cable leave the connection area blank and scroll down to the bottom of the window and click "SUMBIT".
3. If you use a dial up connection to access the Internet (a 56k modem or ISDN) tick the box as indicated and select your dial up account from the pull down menu. The user name and password associated with the account will be automatically updated (provided they are stored in Windows).
4. Select "Submit".
5. Click OK on the "settings changed" pop-up window.

You are now ready to start protecting your data and can double click the Depositit padlock icon on your desktop to open the software. Please click here for assistance in selecting the files and folders you wish to backup.

In the event that you forget or misplace your username or password, you should go to the customer login area on our website.

Older versions of AOL (pre AOL vers9) use their own proprietary dial-up software which may not allow for automatic connection to the Internet. You can still use Depositit by first connecting to the Internet as usual and then by manually carrying out a backup by pressing "Backup Now" on the application.
