BACKUP
Cancelling or Pausing a backup
The status of any backup currently taking place is displayed within the Depositit Progress Meter. This appears as a separate window providing a clear indication of the data being transferred.
To view the Progress Meter window during a scheduled backup, click on the "Backup Status" button on the toolbar or select File > Backup Status. During a manual backup (one that has been started by selecting the "Backup Now" button on the toolbar) the Progress Meter window will appear automatically.
The Progress Meter also allows for a backup to be cancelled or paused.
To cancel a backup:
- Select the "Cancel" button on the Progress Meter.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: By selecting Cancel, any files already transferred to the Depositit servers during that session will not be backed up.
To pause a backup:
- Select the "Pause" button on the Progress Meter.
Follow the on-screen instructions
Note: Any files already transferred to the Depositit servers during that session will be backed up and saved by Depositit.
When the backup is resumed these files will not need to be re-sent unless they have changed.
To continue the backup at any time, first select the backup definition and then click the "Backup Now" button on the toolbar or select File > Backup Now, or wait for the next scheduled backup.
