Q1: My storage is increasing by large amounts everyday, why is this happening and how can I stop it?
A: If you have included to backup emails or database files, this may be causing your storage to increase each day.

Depositit has 2 tips when backing up emails / databases:

  1. Create separate definitions to backup any databases or email programs
  2. Reduce the backup cycle for these definitions

If you do not wish to set up separate definitions for your information or you have already done this, we would reccomend that you reduce your backup cycle/s.

Please refer to our help guides:

Reducing Backup Cycles

Disclaimer:
Depositit customers have complete control over how many backup copies are kept (the default setting is 30). We recommend a minimum backup cycle of 5 be maintained against each definition.

Q2: I want to reduce my storage, how can I delete information from your servers?
A: In order to delete information from our servers, please carry out the following:

  1. Open Depositit by double clicking on the padlock icon on your desktop
  2. Click to the 'Restore' tab
  3. Enter your password (for security)
  4. Left click on the definition you wish to delete (or click on the plus (+) to view the cycles that you may wish to delete)
  5. Once highlighted in blue, click on the 'FILE' menu and then click 'Delete'
  6. Enter your password to confirm the deletion

IMPORTANT: If you are deleting a complete definition from our server, you must remember to select the option to delete the definition from the software as well, otherwise it will backup all over again.

Disclaimer:
Please note that when you delete information from the depositit servers, it will be completely removed and no longer be available to restore from.
