Depositit offer the best safeguard for your computer files providing the easiest and most secure way to backup your data each and every day.

There may be occasion when you need to download some of our program files again. Please follow the instructions below:

AVG ISSUE with Srvany.exe

Some users may have experienced issues when using AVG (Virus Protection). This program has mistakenly quarantined the file Srvany.exe which is used by Depositit to run scheduled backups.

Srvany.exe is part of the Microsoft Windows NT Resource Kit, and allows an application to run as a service on Windows NT, 2000, XP, Server 2003 and Vista.

To download the Srvany file again please click here and save it to your deskptop

1. Once on your desktop please right click on the file and select 'copy' in the drop down window.

2. Click on 'Start' (bottom left of your computer) and then on 'My Computor' > click on C drive and then on 'Program Files' in program files, click on 'Depositit' and then on 'Automated backup'

3. In the window that opens (the Depositit registry) please right click on any empty white area and click 'paste' in the drop down window.

4. Close this window and click on 'Start' again > then 'RUN'

5. In the run window, type: services.msc and then click 'OK'

6. A list of services will appear on your screen and in the A's you will find Automated Backup Daemon (about the 4th or 5th down in the list). click on this once with your left mouse button and then click on 'Start' on the left hand side to start the service.

Your backups should proceed as normal and you can check by:
a. Open the Depositit software > click on 'Backup Status' (top right).
b. If 'backup status' is grayed out, click on the 'ClientLog' tab to see the recent logs or wait for your confirmation email to tell you the backup has run.
